Northern Area Plan - Examination in Public
Sites being converted to Social Housing without representation of landowners.
The Northern Area Plan examination in public is on-going at present.
We understand that where there is a desire for more social housing in a particular area and where NIHE seeks to have sites specifically zoned for social housing that the Department is conceding to that for specific sites even if the landowner has no representation at the EiP.
It is imperative that all landowners attended the hearing on the day they have been notified of as otherwise there will be no defence and a greater risk that specific sites will be zoned specifically for social housing, thereby reducing the market available and potentially the price.
