Maximum Application Fees to Increase to £250,000
In an new consultation document issued in November Fees for Planning Applications are set to rise across the board with maximum fees to be set at £250,000.
Planning Service has proposed massive increases to the maximum application fee from £11,834 to £250,000 more than 10 times higher than the current maximum fee.
In addition there will also be 'top-up' fees of £10,000 for EIA applications.
Applications for commercial development will be calculated on the basis of £170 up to 40 sqm; £335 between 40-75 sqm; £335 per 75 sqm between 75-3750 sqm and £16,565 + an additional £100 per 75 sqm in excess of 3750 sqm up to the maximum of £250,000.
Residential development will be charged at £335 per unit up to 50 dwellings and then £16565 + £100 for each dwelling excess of 50 units up to a maximum of £250,000.
All of which amounts to significant rises in application fees.
It is imperative therefore to lodge any applications which are being prepared as soon as possible to avoid these significant fee increases.
